La Nouche-Casadia

Here’s a bit of a history for one of the recurring characters that will appear from time to time in the Before YAOI High arc.

This, if you guys don’t remember, is Casadia the Witch Keeper, or in layman’s term, almost like a sort of law-keeper of the Protection of Fan-Girls Society. When a matchmaker breaks the rules, he will come to clean things up, and sometimes, even eliminate the witch if need be, depending on the severity of the crime. He had been around since the dawn of the Society, so he has a bit of a old-timey style of talking, trying to slowly get used to talking in a modern fashion.

When he was alive, he was nothing more than a common thief struggling to survive until one day, somewhere in his mid-20’s, he was struck by a carriage and his wounds were near-fatal. At his death bed, he was approached by one of the high witches in the Society and told that if he wished to live beyond his mortal limitation, he was to sign a magic blood contract with them and serve them for all eternity, or at least as long as the fangirl realm still exists. Fearing death, he agreed and was stripped of his mortal solid form and reborn into his Hexxus-ish liquid body, serving his duty as a Witch Keeper.

When La Nouche was born, he was there to provide magical assistance so as La Nouche’s “mom” would not die from childbirth (as the mpreg method employed by the Society was still in experimental stage). The moment he laid eyes on La Nouche who took her first breath of air, he was instantly heads over heels with her. Her father, knowing his feelings for his daughter, entrusted Casadia with the Autumn ring, a ring that was in his family heirloom for generations and only handed to the man worthy to take their child’s hand in marriage.

Unfortunately, after La Nouche’s parents died as collateral damage by the flame wars raid of the anti-yaoi and anti-yuri community, Casadia was immediately put to good use to set things right and pick up the pieces and pull the Society back together. His loyalty towards the FPGS blinded him from the pain the loss of La Nouche’s parents had caused her, and he viewed her immediately as a traitor and troublemaker when La Nouche broke the rules of the Society time and time again.

When La Nouche went AWOL again, the events in which La Promesa released him from his liquid body and begged for his help opened his eyes as he realized that the Autumn ring he thought was lost during the raid was apparently kept hidden from him in order for him to forget about his promise to La Nouche’s father to protect her with his life and forget his intentions to take La Nouche as his wife, and that the Society had betrayed his trust and loyalty and had been prosecuting La Nouche all these years. He severed all ties with the FPGS and became a fugitive just like La Nouche, wandering around the world, hoping that one day, he would find her and present her the ring and fulfill his promise…
